Lynett Funeral Home on Dundas Street West in Toronto needed to provide access to their second level to those with mobility needs.  A commercial stairlift is a cost-effective elevating device that requires the least amount of contracting work and can be installed in just one (1) day.  A simple and effective Savaria K2 Plus was the perfect product for the job.  A commercial stairlift has keyed controls on the armrest of the chair as well as a keyed call/send at the top and bottom landings to operate the lift.  All Commercial Elevating Devices in Ontario are governed by T.S.S.A. to ensure safety and the proper use of the product.  We would be happy to provide guidance on how to make your commercial building accessible. Adding accessibility to a commercial building can be simple and economical with a custom curved stairlift by Stannah. The staircase is digitally measured so the stairlift rail is an exact fit.  The Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre in Toronto has this beautiful stairlift to help staff and visitors reach all levels of the building.  More pictures here.

Stannah is a leader in Ontario for commercial curved stairlifts and have been manufacturing stairlifts for over 150 years.

Do you have a stairlift in your commercial building that needs service or preventative maintenance?  We have industry leading knowledge with all types of manufacturers of accessibility devices.

A veterinary clinic in the GTA needed assistance with 30 lbs bags of dog food being delivered and stored in a basement.  We outfitted this stairwell with a material conveyor.  It can be folded up when not in use to maximize stairwell space and loaded when needed to transport food from the basement up to the clinic.  It will help prevent injuries if someone was trying to move all of this weight manually. A creative solution for a unique request.  More pictures and video here.

The MobiLift by Adaptive Engineering helped make an accessible election office in September.  It was an ideal piece of equipment as it was only needed for a short period of time, and a permanent lift would have been a large investment.  These portable manual wheelchair lifts can be rented for a convocation, stage access, or provide temporary accessibility during construction. Canadian made and reliable in all outdoor weather conditions, these lifts provide a unique way of providing commercial accessibility. See a video on how easy they are to operate.

A beautiful fully enclosed vertical platform lift by Savaria is an excellent way to provide access to a porch, deck, or entrance in a commercial building.  A Health Centre being renovated needed a reliable way to help people gain access to the main entrance.  Before a vertical lift can be installed, there has to be electrical, concrete pad, and support wall contracting work done and this was one of best prepared sites we had the pleasure of working on.  Solid contracting work paired with robustly manufactured products is the best way to ensure the vertical lift operates as intended for decades.  This V1504 vertical platform lift is equipped with automatic landing doors for ease of entry and exit as well as a ventilation system to keep fresh air in the enclosure even in our hot Ontario summers.

Providing accessibility in a commercial or business setting does not have to be costly or require extensive renovations.  A straight commercial stairlift is the most economical way to provide access to another level. Commercial stairlifts in Ontario are governed by T.S.S.A. so there are still stairwell and equipment requirements.  A residential stairlift cannot be used in a commercial setting as they are not equipped with the proper safety features.  Sureflow Equipment Inc. took the initiative to provide access to an upper level of their Burlington office with a Savaria K2 Plus.  Installed in 1 day and inspected by T.S.S.A the following week provides a quick turnaround for commercial access.  This was an excellent installation.

Warrior Park Athletics is a beautiful building with a training and gym facility along with a viewing area and lounge located above. Elders needing access to the second level can use the Savaria Delta Inclined Platform Lift we recently installed to watch their family participate in the events.  The Inclined Platform Lift can accommodate someone in a wheelchair as well as someone with mobility needs as there is also a fold-down seat. This is a space-saving way of providing accessibility in public building.  We were honoured to be part of the Warrior Park project.  More pictures here.

Westview Centre 4 Women & Westview Christian Fellowship in St. Catharines needed access to their facility through a unique church entrance.  Having the advantage of two staircases, we were able to arrange contracting work and pair it with a commercial vertical platform lift to create the wheelchair accessible entrance.

AWL General Contracting did an amazing job working with existing church doors to accommodate an exterior commercial lift door, all along keeping the beautiful stained-glass above, to retain the traditional church appeal. See more pictures of this accessibility project.

The Savaria V1504 vertical platform lift with upper and lower full height doors was the ideal equipment choice for a reliable and cost-effective way of providing accessibility.

We’d like to thank Bonnie and her team for choosing Estate Elevator to help create an accessible space for their patrons. Onwards and upwards.

“We are going to change someone’s life today”.  This inclined vertical platform lift was the solution to getting Nancy & Jens back into their home after being confined to a hospital and hotel.  They had a very tight stairway with a challenging bottom landing, but we were able to successfully install this Harmar IPL500 in a single day.

To be there when Jens came home for the first time was such an emotional experience.  The neighbours were outside welcoming, family was taking pictures, and we felt honoured to have had the opportunity to help.

Thank you for 5-star review Nancy.  We strive to have everyone feel the way you did.  It was an amazing experience for everyone involved.

We had a unique opportunity to match the shape of the elevator cab to the shape of the hoistway with our recent installation in Richmond Hill.  This angled home elevator was custom made to fit into this area of the home which had space limitations.

Home elevators have a recommend size of 15 square feet, but larger sizes and shapes are available, as each elevator is custom made for the specific home.  Elevator trim options can match the rest of the home to emphasize its integration.  We are at the final stages of this elevator and excited to see it turned over to the homeowner.

Preventative Maintenance is a key service to ensure the longevity and proper operation of any lift or elevator. Having an elevator mechanic test the safety features and inspect the components of your elevator or lift provides you peace of mind and drastically reduces the chances of an inconvenient equipment breakdown.  Typically, the cost of a preventative maintenance contract is less than a service call if you unexpectedly need it.

While Preventative Maintenance is optional in residential settings, it is mandated by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority in commercial applications (Office buildings, medical facilities and places of worship; churches, mosques, shrines, synagogues, or temples). A preventative maintenance contract must be put in place between the building owner and a T.S.S.A. registered elevator contractor.

We have seen an increase of preventative maintenance requests over this past month for stairlifts, elevators, exterior lifts as well as various commercial equipment.  With the season changing and increased equipment use, comes increased maintenance requirements.  Reach out to us for a proposal to maintain your elevators or lifts. We provide licensed mechanics with extensive knowledge on all manufacturers and type of accessibility lifts and elevators.

Providing a commercial curved stairlift in places of worship like we did for St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kitchener is an excellent solution to help patrons with limited mobility access all areas of their church.  Typically, a church will need to provide access into the main level from outside, to a basement gathering area, or up to a raised choir loft like our installation at St. Luke’s.

Our partners at Stannah custom made this stairlift to fit the staircase, ensuring it complies with Ontario’s governing body for commercial elevating devices; the Technical Standard & Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.). Licensed mechanics (not technicians), must install, put into operation, and perform maintenance on a commercial stairlift.  This is not the case for a residential stairlift (stairlift in your home).

Working with Tim from the church and providing a beautiful view of the altar for the choir was a pleasure. We’d like to thank them for the opportunity to help make their church accessible with a stairlift. Thanks for the 5-star review
