COMMERCIAL LIFT IN A SCHOOL
A Garaventa Commercial Platform Lift provides secure, reliable vertical transportation in commercial environments. Keyed hall calls allow for controlled, restricted use, while automatic swing doors ensure smooth, easy entry and exit at every landing.
The lift requires the user to hold the button throughout travel which is an important safety feature. With no cab doors, riders maintain visibility of the hoistway during operation. At each stop, the platform stops flush with the landing, the door opens automatically, the door operator is equipped with a timer which securely closes and locks the landing door behind the user.
Inside, the lift features a full-height cab with choice of wall finish, an egg crate ceiling, handrail, and an operating panel complete with a built-in phone.
The system requires a separate machine room to house the hydraulic drive system, controller, and electrical disconnects.
With a 1,000 lb weight capacity, up to 23 feet of travel, and a speed of 36 feet per minute, this lift is ideally suited for schools, places of worship, retail environments, and municipal buildings. Click HERE or on the image for our product video.
You may need two lifts
This church required two Garaventa Xpress II inclined platform lifts to provide access to all levels of their building.
This post-mounted system includes an integrated handrail for foot traffic using the staircase.
Wireless wall-mounted call/send stations allow the lift to be operated remotely and with a single touch, the lift can also be folded when not in use.
Both lifts are equipped with the side-load option, allowing users to easily enter and exit the platform.
For safety, the lift operates with constant pressure controls, meaning the user must hold the button for the entire duration of travel.
Ramps and safety arms deploy automatically, creating a secure barrier during travel.
The lift moves along two extruded aluminum rails. The upper rail houses the gear rack and traveling cable, while the lower rail provides lateral support and stability. Click HERE for product video
Stage access at school
Accessibility in schools is essential. Students, staff and visitors must be able to move safely between floors and fully participate in school activities.
This accessibility elevator was installed to provide accessible access to the stage area of a school auditorium and gymnasium. The lift features a full height enclosed cab, creating a familiar elevator experience while remaining a practical and cost-effective accessibility solution.
The lift operates using constant pressure controls, meaning the user holds the button for the duration of travel. This is a required safety feature for accessibility lifts.
A dedicated machine room houses the drive equipment and control system, keeping the hoistway clean while allowing easy access for service and maintenance.
When product choice, installation expertise and building design align, the result is a clean and reliable accessibility solution.

Battery back-up system
A wireless keyed call/send allows you to unfold and operate this Garaventa Xpress II inclined platform lift. The ramps and safety arms automatically go into the riding position to provide a safe experience for the user.
This application is in a commercial building in Ontario with clients desire to get those with accessibly needs to the upper office level.
The advantage of an inclined platform lift is it fits easily into most stairways and does not require a specially constructed hoistway. You have minimal construction for maximum accessibility.
When the lift reaches the top landing the platform ramps and safety arm automatically goes into position to allow a user to exit with ease.
This Xpress II has a battery back-up option allowing you to operate the lift even if there is a power outage.
Platform controls are also key operated with contrast pressure on the push button for desired direction. The Xpress II has a fold down seat so it accommodates those who are not in a wheelchair as well as those in a wheelchair. See the VIDEO
Stairlift Safety Sensors
The Stannah commercial stairlift is equipped with intelligent safety sensors on both on the carriage and footrest. It automatically comes to a gentle stop if an obstruction is detected.
Simply reverse the stairlift, remove the obstruction, and continue your journey with ease.
These pressure-sensitive safety edges function in both upward and downward directions, even when the chair is in the folded position, ensuring that the user, as well as their surroundings and belongings, remain protected while using the stairlift. Vertical Lift with enclosure
Here is a Garaventa Genesis low-rise commercial vertical platform lift in a matching Plexiglas enclosure. An automatic top landing gate with an integrated interlock and a laminated glass insert is paired with a full height door at the lower landing.
A pedestal keyed call/send station enables the automatic door to open for easy entry. This application was a pit-less design, so there is a ramp for smooth entry into the lift.
The lift’s car operating panel is key-controlled, illuminated, and connected to a phone line. Click the Image or HERE for the product video.
Office Accessibility
This Garaventa Genesis Vertical Platform Lift was installed in a prepared hoistway in an office building in downtown Toronto, ON. This lift provided full office access wheelchair users and others with mobility needs. This elevating device is equipped with automatic doors for ease of entry, illuminated car operating panel with phone communication, and an automatic top landing gate. It has a 750 lb weight capacity and a travel speed of 17 feet per minute. Click the image or HERE to see the product video.
Golf Course Access
The Garaventa Express II Inclined Platform Lift is designed to transport people in a wheelchair or with other accessibility needs up or down a straight set of stairs. When not in use it, it folds up with a push of a button to allow for maximum pedestrian flow in the stairwell. The automatic fold button, call/send buttons, and the key controls are located on the stations mounted to the wall. It can be sent to the top or bottom landing by using the hall call stations. A user has the ability to independently operate the lift by using the constant pressure buttons located on the lift. It has a fold down seat allowing for versatility in transporting those with accessibility needs, but not necessarily in a wheelchair. This Golf Course Clubhouse became accessible again. Commercial vs Residential Stairlift
A commercial Stannah 600 stairlift differs from the residential model with a few notable differences. A commercial lifts must be keyed controlled for restricted use. Both residential and commercial models have a push button automatic folding footrest. A commercial stairlift has an emergency stop button which a user can activate to shut down the stairlift. Both residential and commercial stannah 600 stairlift swivel seat at the top landing, have a power footrest, and manually folding armrests and seat for maximal staircase width when not in use. Remove the key, insert it into the hall call station and you can send the chair the desired parking location in the stairwell. The governing body for commercial elevating devices in Ontario is the Technical Standards and Safety Authority. All commercial stairlift must have a registered license number as well as pass an in-depth initial inspection by TSSA. The stairlift must have a TSSA sticker with a license number affixed to it. Portable Lift
The Adaptive Engineering MobiLift does not require installation or electrical wiring to provide access to stages or other elevated platforms. The user enters the lift from the ground ramp that is manually folded down. Folding the ramp back up secures the user on the platform and you can begin to manually crank the lift. To exit the lift you lower the bridge ramp, which comes in different lengths to span larger stairs or other obstacles. The user then has a smooth exit onto the desired landing. The platform of the lift is 34” wide x 56” long which can accommodate a large wheelchair, scooter, or other mobility devices. To lower someone from and upper landing, you simply release the bridge, once they are on the platform, close and secure the bridge and manually crank them down to the lower landing, and lower the ground ramp. This lift manually powered lift and has a maximum lifting height of 60”, which takes about 20 seconds. It has a maximum weight capacity of 600 lb. Made from aluminum and stainless steel the MobiLift is easy to move as it only weighs 270 lbs. The lift dimensions are 38” wide x 72” long with a height of 66”. The lift stores easily and quickly as once you release the brake it can roll into a designated storage area. This versatile lift can be used at different locations as it can be loaded into a truck and easily transport to the next venue. Click on the image or HERE for our product video.
